These are the last seven films of Fox Star Studios. You can imagine how much the studio in question depends on the Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja, which hit theatres today.
The million dollar question is: Can the Ram Madhvani-directed Neerja turn the fortunes of Fox Star Studios? Is Sonam convincing in her portrayal of Neerja Bhanot?
SpotboyE spoke to experts in movie business, who were very optimistic.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra said, “Let’s see what happens. It’s not an easy time for a film to have released, with exams going on everywhere. But I still feel that the film is safe because the word of mouth is really good.”
Added Mehra, “Sonam is wonderful in the film. She has proved that she can act.”
Komal Nahata chipped in, “The film may not have registered full house yet, but it’s a sure shot hit.”
Nahata too was all praise for Sonam. “She has done an exceptionally good job. Her career is going to fly from here.”
And what’s the response at the ticket windows?
A top official from Fun Cinemas revealed, “We are so relieved that a film like Neerja has released. We are registering 65 per cent collections since morning and it is expected to shoot higher.”
Fingers crossed.
